Critters Up Close is a mobile education service that provides educational, fun and passionate presentations to teach kids and adults alike about some of Australia’s most fascinating and sometimes misunderstood creatures. Whatever your event Critters Up Close can tailor a presentation package to suit you.
Earlier this year we asked Critters Up Close to take part in a Fathering Project event at our son’s school. The event was a special night for Dad’s and kids from the school to get together and enjoy a BBQ, wildlife presentation and night stalk.
Michael (Critters Up Close – Head Conservationalist and Owner) is a fun, knowledgeable, engaging and passionate presenter and knows how to win over a gathering of any size, with the ability to present to over 500 people at a time.
For our school event Michael presented several nocturnal critters that kids could expect to see at night in the local area and around Perth. It was a great opportunity for the kids and Dad’s to get up close to some of these amazing critters and learn more about them before heading out on their night stalk around the school.
After the presentation Michael guided the kids and Dad’s on a night stalk around the school grounds. With so many people (we had around 100 people total in attendance) the noise may have scared off any critters that may have been around the school. However Michael still gave the group lots of tips so they could go on a night stalk in their own backyards and local reserves with their parents anytime.
We’ve seen Michael present in many different venues and situations from large crowds to small gatherings and he always engages each and every person in his presentations and you always walk away with a renewed appreciation for our native Australian critters. Critters Up Close can work with you to put together a “Wildly Educational” presentation for any event from birthday parties, child care presentations, special needs presentations right up to shopping centre and large community events.
