Freshwaters is located overlooking the stunning Freshwater Bay, Peppermint Grove, and is just a short stroll from the popular Keane’s Point playground.
Dining along the Swan River doesn’t get much more stunning than this. Freshwaters provides sweeping views of the Swan River from indoors and the front undercover dining area.
The indoor dining area is bright, spacious and airy with large windows that let lots of light in and give you beautiful views of the river. There is plenty of room for prams alongside the tables and easy pram access from the back of Freshwaters (on the playground side), and high chairs are available for little ones.
If you have a dog dining with you or want to enjoy some sunshine, there is a covered dining area at the front with beautiful river views also.
Keane’s Point Playground is just across the carpark from Freshwaters so you can grab a coffee to go or enjoy a coffee and something to eat before or after your play. It also makes the perfect breakfast, lunch or evening dinner and play combination, as they are open daily 6am – 8pm.
We grabbed a doughnut (they have an awesome selection of donuts and they are huge and super delicious), coffee & juice to go, to enjoy as we walked along the beautiful foreshore, up to the off the lead dog area, but we have been told this is a beautiful place to dine, with exceptional food.
There is a big variety on the menu with an all day menu (that includes a morning & afternoon tea section), kids menu, mains menu and desserts menu. We will definitely be back for a meal one day soon.
I really loved all the local history that was included in the menus complete with lots of photos of the area dating back to the early 1900’s. It gives you the sense that this indeed is a very special place, filled with history and a place that people have been coming to for a long time before us to relax and enjoy it’s beauty. It’s amazing to look out over the water imagine the people and the old buildings through the several pages of history and images in the menu and it makes for a nice conversation with family and friends over your meal too.
Freshwaters is a seriously beautiful place to dine, grab something to go for a picnic and then play at the park, splash in the river and wander along the foreshore. It’s not just a cafe/restaurant you can turn your outing into a day out here it is truly magical on a nice sunny day. Whether it be breakfast, lunch, morning tea, afternoon tea, dinner or a quick coffee and a treat to go the whole family will adore Freshwaters, Peppermint Grove.
