John Forrest Nature Playground Features: Nature Playground | Toilets | Picnic Area & Tables | BBQs | Tavern
A nature playground alongside the gently flowing creek from the Glen Brook Dam and right near the John Forrest Picnic Area – nature play doesn’t get much better than this!
This beautiful nature play area was included as part of the John Forrest National Park picnic area upgrades in 2019 and is perfectly located between the main picnic area and the Glen Brook Dam bridge.
The playground is constructed soley of wooden logs and features a teepee and a series of balancing logs.
Alongside the playground is a running creek with shallow water and rocks, so kids can enjoy getting their feet wet and jumping from rock to rock.
My favourite feature of this playground is the two magnifying glasses. Kids can scramble around and look for leaves, rocks, bark, maybe even bugs to put under the glass to see up close.
Entry by vehicle to John Forrest National Park is $13 per car. You can find out more about the walk trails, picnic area, tavern, toilets, opening times and entry fees to here . Before you leave make sure you go up to the tavern car park to say hello to the kangaroos. This is one place in Perth you are guaranteed to see kangaroos. They are always there.
John Forrest National Park is a beautiful place to picnic and play with the family or to enjoy some adventure on one of waterfall or other walks. It’s a must visit for any Perth resident or visitor to Perth.
