Lake Monger Playground Wembley Features: Adventure Playground | Flying Fox | Water Play | Half Basketball Court | Exercise Stations Nearby | Lake Walk | Picnic Tables | Toilets Nearby | BBQs Nearby
The Lake Monger Playground Wembley received a much awaited upgrade and opened in late July 2021. It features a big adventure playground right alongside Lake Monger (on the South Western side) and is a fantastic addition to this beautiful Perth location. While there are features for little ones, this playground is best suited to older children.
The playground is located in between the main road and the edge of Lake Monger, so close supervision is required at this playground. There is a fence that extends along the length of the playground in between the playground and the road, however the playground itself is not fenced.
The main playground adventure play area that features various ropes obstacles have been built with recycled Western Power poles. There are several elevated obstacles that challenge strength, balance and agility.
There are a couple of slides at each end of the playground, both with an adventure climb to the top. of the slide.
Little ones will love the two large basket swings at the Lake Monger Playground too.
And of course what is an adventure playground without an epic flying fox. It’s a double cable flying fox with a wooden access ramp.
The other feature I just love at this playground is the water play. The water runs through a cut out groove in a natural branch in a nice sandy corner of the playground, so make sure you bring those spare clothes along to this playground.
Near the playground is the original half basketball court and exercise stations and of course if you would like to enjoy a walk around the lake (~3.5km) there is a shared pathway all the way around.
There are no picnic shelters however there are a few picnic tables alongside the playground.
The Eastern Lake Monger Playground was still under upgrade works at the time of this review, so we will add it here once this is complete. Toilets and BBQs are located a short walk towards the Eastern side of the lake and a water fountain is located at the entry to this playground.
