Lavender and Berry Farm Cafe Pemberton Features: Cafe | Open Wednesday – Sunday | Devonshire Tea | Gardens | Playground | High Chairs | Farm Animals to Pat (No Feeding) | Reopening 10th September 2020
Lavender and Berry Farm Pemberton is the place to go for casual, family friendly diningset among a picturesque location.
On arrival, weheaded to the gift shop and café. There was a selection of jams, soaps, candlesand other lovely knick-knacks to buy in the shop, as well as the café counterto order food. I had read aboutthe famous “pemby pancake” served with icecream and homemade jam, so ordered asmall one to share, as well as a breakfast roll, coffees and babycinos for thekids. The pancakes take about 15 minutes to cook for the small and 20 minutes forthe large. While we waited we took a stroll around the grounds of the farm.
The farm has somebeautiful gardens with lots of roses and lavender, as well as some friendlyalpacas and ponies to pat (but remember not to feed the animals!).
The café hasseated alfresco dining that is sheltered from the wind, rain and sun and offershigh chairs and colouring-in for the kids. However, you can also choose to eaton the picnic benches right next to the kid’s playground.
With young kids whodon’t like to stay still for long, we chose to sit next to the playground. Ilove this type of dining, it makes it so much easier to keep an eye on my 3kids, as well as enjoy my food without having to scoff it down before anyonegets too cranky.
The playground ispretty simple with some sand, a fort, a slide and a see-saw, but it was enoughto keep my kids entertained for at least an hour. The playground also overlooksthe onsite dam and the surrounding Karri forest – a lovely spot to while awaythe morning.
Our food wasbrought out to us (just mention when you order that you will be sitting at theplayground) and everything looked and smelt delicious. The Pemby pancake was different to a typicalpancake. I think it gets baked in the oven, which gives it a crunchy outer, buta soft and fluffy centre. It was so good! The breakfast roll was also a goodchoice and our coffees were on point.
The kids had lotsof fun on the playground, and hubby and I got to enjoy a relaxed breakfast. Iwill definitely be back the next time I’m in Pemberton.
