Entry to Whiteman Park is free and Pia’s Place is located a little distance from the main village area. You can drive and park in the large car park alongside the playground or you can base yourself at the Whiteman Village for the day and catch the train to the Pia’s Place Train Stop right in front of the park. (Note; fees apply to ride the train and  trains run on certain days and times only and don’t run on higher fire danger days or during Total Fire Ban. See website link below for more information)

Pia’s Place All Abilities Playground Whiteman Park is a fully fenced playground with play features for all abilities and all the facilities you need for a day out with friends and family.

The playground has a very natural feel and blends in well with the surrounding bushland environment, having maintained many of the tall trees for excellent natural shading and the wooden play features adding to the natural theme of the playground too.

There’s no denying the central feature of this park. The 8m tall lighthouse tower, with the base of the tower accessed by a series of challenging play features or via the grassed hill on the other side.

The tower climb consists of a series of platforms within the tower that takes you up to a big lookout at the top with a big and super exciting slide to bring you back down again.

Underneath the tower, at ground level is a tunnel. WIthin the tunnel are talk tubes that go to the tower lookout as well as video screens that show the views from the top of the tower so those who can’t climb the tower can still see the beautiful views from the top.

There’s plenty of fun and adventure on the ground (and not far off the ground too) with these tee pees and pods also under some beautiful natural shade.

On the other side of the tower is a boat shaped wooden play structure that’s surrounded by a series of wooden obstacles including monkey bars and balancing logs.

Another main feature of the park is the flying fox. It includes an all abilities seat so everyone can have a go.

Close to the flying fox is a toddler play area with little slides and low level adventure as well as sand play.

Little ones will love the water play too, with water fountain and trough that runs to the creek below.

Another all abilities play feature of the park is the wheelchair accessible spinning carousel. In keeping with the history of Whiteman Park there are also a couple of historical artefacts that have been recreated with wood to form an old tractor and old cart with lots of interactive play features.

A few other features around the park include more tee pees, tyre swings and a rocking seated area.

There is a large grassed area at the back of the playground that looks onto the surrounding bushland. You are likely to spot a kangaroo or two here (or maybe one inside the playground too). The playground is surrounded by bush land so it is important to always be snake aware while playing at the playground.

A couple of large shelters are available to hire near the barbeques and there are picnic tables, seating and water fountains located around the playground area. Toilets are located just outside at the entrance to the playground.

Pia’s Place All Abilities Playground is an absolute must do when visiting Whiteman Park. It’s a fun and adventurous place to meet with friends and family and has everything you need for a fun day out. Also look out for news of a cafe opening at Pia’s Place in the near future.
