Point Walter Goanna Golf Bicton Features: 18 Hole Mini Golf | Open Daily | Cafe
Point Walter Goanna Golf Bicton is an 18-hole mini golf course that opened inJuly 2020. Situated at the entrance of Point Walter Golf Course, it is a greatactivity that would suit anyone from ages 3 -99.
We were greeted by friendly staff who armed us with ourscore card and pencil, made sure we had the right size clubs and picked out acoloured ball then we were ready to channel our inner Happy Gilmore and headout to the course.
*Rookiemistake* I highly recommend ensuring children use the bathroom BEFORE you startplaying while there is a break after the 9th hole to allow you tohave a toilet break the waterfalls triggered both my children’s bladders on the6th hole and we had to interrupt another family’s game to get past to access the bathrooms.
As you walk out to tee off you overlook the entire course andit is an impressive sight. The mini golf course has been well planned out withplenty of shade from existing trees, tranquil waterfalls, large limestone rocksand benches to sit on while you wait. Each course has an easy (white flag)option or a more difficult option (red flag) to ensure the whole family ischallenged no matter their skill level.
My son promptly kicked our putts getting a hole in one onthe difficult option on the first hole! But I think it was beginners’ luck. The second hole is a work of art, it covers three tiers withthree options to get to the base, my favourite option was through a metal snakesculpture.
Therest of the course was serene with participants spread out at 10 minuteintervals. The existing trees housed a large family of crows that oversaw ourgame and provided us with additional entertainment. This allowed us to spendquality family time together without feeling rushed or overwhelmed, yet it wasstill exciting with various challenges such as mock sand bunkers and watertraps.
My children enjoyed finishing their golf balls out of thewater just as much as the actual golfing.
All golf clubs & balls are thoroughly cleaned and there areantibacterial wipes available to clean your clubs and golf balls when you return. There is a café on site to enjoy refreshments after the game. Bookings can be made online via their website or over the phone. See website link below for individual player and family pass prices. Group bookings and a party package are also available.
Overall, we are thoroughly impressed with this new mini golfcourse and highly recommend it for any mini golf enthusiasts or anyone lookingfor an activity that is fun for the whole family. We would rate this venue 5/5stars.
