If you are looking for something to do with the kids in Margaret River, they will love having a run around at Rotary Park, located at the base of the town’s main road – and it will not disappoint any little adventurer.
The playground area is located at the top of the river bank, but is well fenced and meshed off from the river. With two playgrounds located right next to each other, one is designed for younger children and the other is shaped like a boat – and the kids will love it!
The kids will also love walking back and forth across the footbridge that goes over the river. That is also well protected from the river with meshed in handrails.
If you want to enjoy a short bush walk that is suitable for young childen – around 20 mins return, head to the end of this bridge. You will see the old museum staight ahead – here you turn right and walk parallel to the river for about 5mins
When you see this sign on the right hand side, stop and look left you’ll see a board walk that goes out onto the river.
This beautiful board walk features some plaques with information about the native flora and fauna and has the gorgeous love heart wooden seat at the viewing deck at the end.
Back to Rotary Park, there are free barbeques and several shaded table and chairs available so Rotary Park Margaret River makes a great place to have a sausage sizzle while the kids burn off that excess energy in this awesome little nature playground.
And if you are after some exercise there are several exercise stations right near the playground – it’s like a nature gym under the trees.
The kids will love the old train and log wagon too!
This park and playground is beautifully maintained by the Rotary Club so make sure you place a donation in the wishing well on your way out !
