If you are looking for family friendly accommodation close to Marina Bay in Singapore the Swissotel The Stamford is perfectly located and gives you a view of Marina Bay and the nightly light show from their Harbour View Rooms.
During our stay in Singapore, we stayed in a Permier Harbour View Room. The views over Marina Bay were amazing and it was a great vantage point to watch the Marina Bay Light and Water Show each night. This is a 15 minute outdoor show that includes dancing fountain jets, colourful visual projections, advanced lasers and lava and mist effects and runs every night all year round.
We booked a twin double bed room which was perfect for our family of 4, however you can request roll away beds if you have more children.
Our room booking included buffet breakfast which included a range of continental and hot foods as well as hot and cold drinks. On our way out each day to go sight seeing we grabbed complimentary apples and water bottles, so with these and a big breakfast some days we found that we didn’t need to stop for lunch.
The hotel has two pools, one that’s a little shallower, perfect for swimming with toddlers and the main pool. The kids love being back for an afternoon swim each day and always made friends with other travellers each day.
There are tennis courts available to hire also. We had one game of tennis but with the temperature in Singapore usually around a humid 30 degrees the kids didn’t last too long before they wanted to head back to the pool. If you fancy a bit more exercise the hotel also features a gym.
When it comes to eating there are so many options. There are several restaurants within the hotel, there is a McDonalds and a shopping centre with food mall and supermarket right next door. The popular Makansutra Gluttons Bay Hawkers is just a short stroll away and is located right alongside Marina Bay, has a beautiful view of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and features beautiful traditional Singaporean food.
Marina Bay is just a short stroll away from the Swissotel The Stamford, and features a range of eateries and sights to see around the bay (including Singapore’s iconic Merlion) as well as this little water play feature along the way.
Swissotel The Stamford Singapore is also located just 15 minutes drive from Sentosa Island, which cost us around S$7.50-$10 by taxi each way and is just a short stroll to the MRT. We highly recommend the Swissotel The Stamford for family friendly accommodation when in Singapore, it’s well located and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful.
