We are lucky to live in a wonderful city that hosts so many free family friendly events, month after month. Here are the top FREE April 2019 Perth Family Events, so you can enjoy a day or night out with the family that won’t break the bank.

Friday5th to Sunday 7th –  Joondalup Festival

Enjoya fun-packed three days of live entertainment and alfresco eating and drinkingat Joondalup Festival. Featuring oversized and interactive art installations,circus, music, comedy, children’s shows and more, there is something to tickleeveryone’s fancy. There are so many things to discover at Joondalup Festival!All events within the festival are free and family friendly. The Festival willfeature live music, International street performers and circus stars, children’sactivities, talks, stargazing nights, theatre performances for young and old,oversized and immersive art installations, food trucks, a licensed area andcommunity projects including the Twilight Lantern Parade and Community ChoralProject. Friday 5th to Sunday 7th – ART TRA LightFestival, Claremont

See Claremont Park transform into aninteractive outdoor gallery for three spectacular nights this April. Light upyour night as you take an illuminating stroll through the park and soak up theglow of the original light installations. 15 original light themedinstallations created by Western Australian artists, a special lightinstallation created by Freshwater Bay Primary School students, rovingentertainment with a special performance every night at 8pm and delightfullydelicious food stalls and a pop-up bar from The Claremont Hotel. Saturday6th – Autumn River Festival, Ascot

Treatthe family to a fun-filled day by the river and enjoy a variety of FREEactivities and entertainment! There is something for everyone to enjoy at theCity’s free Autumn River Festival at Garvey Park. Saturday6th – Alkimos Vista Colour Party

Celebrate the opening of the AlkimosVista Display Village, Sales & Information Centre, Picasso Park andreopening of Sprout Community Hub. There will be an explosion of fun FREEactivities to inspire your creative spirit including  Live DJ, Kite Display, Giant Maze, Kite andWind Chime Craft Making, Face Painting, Mini Art Canvas Workshop, and so muchmore! 1pm – 4pm. Saturday6th – Cockburn Cultural Fair, Atwell

Bringthe family along and be inspired by the diversity of foods and culture right onyour doorstep. This event highlights the many cultural communities of Cockburnand this year there will be a wide variety for you to experience. Performancesinclude, Chinese Folk Dancers, Taiko Japanese Drums, Alpen Duo, and a Livecooking demo with 2018 Masterchef Brendan Pang. Other activities include gocarting, face painting, henna, basket weaving, mold painting, camel riding andcritter displays. One of the biggest events onBayswater’s calendar, the Autumn River Festival celebrates the natural beautyof the Swan River. Saturday6th – Subiaco Street Party

The Subiaco StreetParty, Subiaco’s biggest community event returns, with the theme ‘Around theWorld’, celebrating four distinct zones from around the globe. Check in withthe concierge to be provided with a special event passport for exploring newexperiences across four themed zones, including the Americas, Mediterranean,Asia and Down Under.
