Banks Reserve Mount Lawley

Big nature based playground at the beautiful riverside Banks Reserve Mount Lawley

Banks Reserve Mount Lawley Features: Nature Based Playground | Toilets|  BBQs | Water Fountains | Picnic Tables | Shared Path Riverside Walk | Basketball Ring | Mini Skate Park | Dog Exercise Area

Banks Reserve Mount Lawley received a major upgrade in September 2020 with a big nature based playground with basketball court and mini skate park opened at this beautiful Swan River picnic spot. The location has everything you need for a day out picnicing and playing by the river.

The playground features a wooden fort with twisting slide, built around an existing tree that provides excellent natural shade. A basket swing is also located alongside the fort. For the little ones there are also two low level slides next to the fort.

The nature based play area with wooden balancing logs has also been built around an existing tree.

The Banks Reserve Nature Play Space also hosts a mini skate park and a basketball court.

In between the playground and skate park and basketball court is a picnic area with picnic shelters, BBQs and a water fountain.

The reserve also features a dog exercise area, access to the Swan River and lots of grassed area to picnic. This is a popular spot for fishing, there is even a fishing table here to prepare your bait or cut up your catch.

The toilets are located behind the playground and the Banks Reserve Pavilion.

If you feel like adding a bit of a walk to your play, it’s a 1.2km (2.4km round walk) shared walk up to Bardon Park Maylands, where you will find a fantastic playground with flying fox as well as a woodfired pizza truck on variable days during the warmer months. Just check the Annies Woodfired Pizza facebook to confirm dates/times present. This walk takes you through the beautiful wetlands alongside the river, where you will see an abundance of wildlife and birdlife.

Banks Reserve Mount Lawley is the perfect spot for a play, or to enjoy a BBQ or picnic and splash by the river. There is a small car park and street parking is also available.
