Bannister Creek Nature Playground Lynwood

Enjoy a nature play and a nature walk at Bannister Creek Nature Playground Lynwood

Nature Playground * Nature Walks * Flying Fox (May be Out of Service)

Bannister Creek Nature Playground Lynwood is a small playground that provides nature-base play equipment for a wide range of age groups.

There is no designated parking here however there is plenty of verge to park on in nearbystreets. My recommendation is to park on Brampton Way and follow the foot path to theplayground. This is a great park for locals to visit as it has plenty of paths leading to it anda rack to store your bike.

The park has a few pieces of play equipment, and while they are more modern in stylethey are all framed with wooden logs. The equipment consists of a netted climbing frame, basket swing, monkey bars, balancing rope and balancing poles.

The area is encircled with tree log steps which add an extra element of play. There is alsoa large log with a hole cut in to it to act as a mud kitchen, for the kids to create all sorts ofwonderful natural concoctions

The most unique feature of the park are the turtles. These are made of coloured softfall forthe shells and carved logs for the legs and head. They are a lot of fun for the younger kidsto climb on and get a feel for different textures.

There is also an awesome flying fox, however it seems to have been indefinitely closed bythe City of Canning, despite their sign saying it’s only temporary, it has been closed for atleast the last 6 months.

The area is shaded by the beautiful, large, near-by trees, and also has a small shadedbench. It has a drink fountain with a dog bowl to drink from, however there are no toilets orbarbeques. If you want to extend your visit there is a nearby walk path that takes you along the creekand over a couple of bridges. There are signs of the local flora and flora built into the pathwhich my kids love to point out and try to name.
