When the weather heats up in Perth the beach is the place to be. Here are some of Perth’s best beachside cafes with play options nearby so you can enjoy the perfect trifecta, a swim, play and a coffee! These all include a good access to the beach, a cafe and somewhere to play.
The Shore Cafe Alkimos
Enjoy 180 degree views of the ocean, lots of grassed area to run around, sun loungers, good access to the beach and a play area outside the The Shore Cafe. It’s open daily for breakfast and lunch, and for dinner on weekends and is located right on the foreshore so it’s easy to spend the day away here.
Canteen Trigg
Let the kids enjoy the shaded nature based play area right alongside Canteen Trigg. Just a short walk away is a family friendly section of beach that is accessible by a ramp so you can take your pram onto the beach. Canteen Trigg is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. www.canteentrigg.com
The Kiosk Floreat
This is a summer favourite with shaded playground alongside The Kiosk. You can order from the window or dine in at the restaurant. The playground features a little water play section and there is good access to the beach from the playground also. The Kiosk is open daily for breakfast and lunch and for dinner in summer Thursday – Sunday.
Jindalee Beach Shack
The Jindalee Beach Shack is elevated and features alfresco and outdoor dining with magnificent sunset views.
The Orange Box Leighton
The Orange Box is located at the Leighton Beach access and while there is no play equipment here you can enjoy giant games on the grass at the cafe before or after you’ve hit the beach.
Swell Mullaloo Beach & Tom Simpson Park
Play beachside at the Tom Simpson Park Playground located on the large Mullaloo Foreshore reserve. Swell Mullaloo is just a short stroll from the playground and is open daily, as well as being open for dinner Wed – Sun.
C Breez Kiosk Scarborough
Dine undercover, out in the sunshine, grab a bean bag or thrown down a picnic rug and enjoy dog and kid friendly dining overlooking the beautiful Scarborough Beach.
The Surfing Lizard Coogee
Dine on the deck at The Surfing Lizard or grab a coffee to go and enjoy at the pirate ship playground on the Coogee Beach Foreshore. Good access to the beach from the foreshore. The Surfing Lizard is open daily for breakfast and lunch.
