* Low Calorie * Gluten Free * Asia Inspired Recipes

The Bikini Cook Book Asia is part of the Bikini Cook Book Series and is filled with beautiful asia inspired recipes, all under 300 calories per serve and gluten free, so you can cook up a healthy family asian feast for the whole family at home. Many of the recipes are also vegetarian and dairy free, with some also suitable for freezing.

Michelle Floate, Perth author (and school friend of mine), used her recipes to lose 18kg, and continues to create new recipes to maintain her weight loss and inspire others to continue with a healthier lifestyle that’s filled with delicious, filling, low calorie meals.

First we tried the Vietnam inspired Chicken Rice Paper Rolls. I had never made rice paper rolls before and was surprised at how easy they were to make, and how delicious they were. They were a big hit with hubby, and they are now a, at least, once per week meal – they are an affordable meal to make and are perfect for lunch or a light dinner. Tip! Wet the rice paper then lay out on a moist tea towel to fill them and roll them, and do one at a time.

What I love about all the Bikini Cookbook series is that, while you may find you may have to stock your cupboard with a few new ingredients, many of the ingredients are repeated in several recipes, and I found with the Bikini Cook Book Asia that many of the ingredients I already had too.

Next I thought I would attempt to make a meal for the kids so we made Vietnam inspired Chicken Sticks with Satay Sauce and Cambodia inspired Potato & Corn Fritters on the side. The kids loved this one, the Potato & Corn Fritters in particular are good if the kids want to help make them they can mash the potato and separate them into portions ready for cooking.

I made the Potato & Corn Fritter into small ball size portions for the kids so it was easier for them to eat, and the Chicken Sticks where a hit too. A lovely low calorie, filling and healthy asian meal for the kids. The Chicken Sticks with Satay Sauce were 193 calories and the Potato & Corn Fitters just 101 calories per serve.
