Botany Park Hammond Park Features: Fully Fenced Playground | Nature Based Play | Water Play | Toilets | BBQs | Picnic Shelters | ~20 min Walk From Aubin Grove Train Station
Botany Park in Hammond Park has gone to the top of the list for the next birthday party. After recently undergoing an upgrade, it contains many great new features and is also fully enclosed, which is great for children of all ages.
The playgroundfeatures 2 climbing and slide structures, one aimed at toddlers and one aimedat older kids, plus a rock climbing wall, a nature and water play area, and aswing area which included a nest swing, a toddler swing and a swing with a highback and harness. There is also an in-ground spinning roundabout which makes itaccessible to all and the kids loved this the most. Shade sails are in place during summer, however we were glad that they were not there in winter, as it meant the playground dried quickly in between the rainy days.
The natureplay area contains wooden balance beams, stepping logs and a wobble beam andbridge to practice those coordination skills. All leading to the water playarea where kids can climb the rocks or the wall using a climbing rope to reach the water pumpat the top.
Water can be pumped into the levels below, creating a waterfall which runs down into the sand below for some muddy play.
Throughout theplayground there are bike / scooter paths which help teach some road rules, including crosswalks, keep left and stop signs. There are a few little bike / scooterracks located inside too, so when they have finished scooting around, they canpark them up.
Another greatfeature is a free outdoor gym and basketball court right next to theplayground, so why not get a quick workout in while the kids play safely in theenclosed playground?!
Being locatednext to a football oval meant lots of room to run and kick a ball around too. There are toilets in the clubrooms, however only one is unlocked 7am to 7pmdaily. This is the unisex toilet andshower which also includes a baby change table. Outside of the clubroom is also adefibrillator in case of emergency. A public water fountain and 2 free gas BBQs are located next to sheltered seating areas, just outside the fence so you can sit and relax while you watch the kids play. There is also a seating area within the playground.
This is asmoke free playground and please also note that no dogs are allowed inside theenclosed play area, so may need to leave your fur babies at home or waitoutside the gate with them while the kids play. There are nocafé facilities at this park, however you can always pick up a coffee on theway, from The Park Hive Shopping Centre.
Botany Park Hammond Park is a greatplayground for all ages. The enclosed play area makes it a wonderful spot wherethe kids can run wild and the parents can sit and enjoy watching them play in afun and safe environment. The smile on my kids faces was well worth the visit, they asked if we can go again tomorrow!
