Wildlife Experiences * Play Area * Cafe * BBQs * Picnic Area * Open Daily * Kids Under 3 Free * Annual Pass Available
The Critters Up Close family had the pleasure of visiting the Bunbury Wildlife Park located on Prince Philip Drive, South Bunbury. This was our second visit to the wildlife park in 6 months and a great, inexpensive day away for all the family.
On arrival to the park, you are greeted with one of the best children play areas that we have seen, with play equipment even suited to those young at heart. As you enter the park, there is a great cafe and gift shop overlooking the play area where you can sit back and let the little monkeys run wild whilst you recharge with a coffee before visiting the other animals.
What we loved so much about this park is that it is very well kept, there are large enclosures for all captive critters and a strong focus on animal enrichment to keep them happy. They have a great diversity of native Australian fauna but have focused on quality not quantity when it comes to the critters and the way they are kept, with more green space and walk through aviaries.
Be prepared to get up close with the animals! With many of them happy to fly down or hop on over and say hello, with walk through flight aviaries and a large walk in pen to feed the kangaroos (feed available on entry for a small cost) it is great for the kids.
Wildlife Experiences – You can even cuddle an emu!
Since last visiting the Bunbury wildlife park 3 months ago, we have seen a huge amount of changes over a small period of time and after meeting some of the keepers, it seems this momentum is set to continue and can not wait to see what they create.
This park is suited to all ages, is very flat making it easy to get around, not huge and is suitable for wheelchairs. We spent over 2 hours in the park, after which we took a drive into the main town for a coffee and caught the sunset at one of the well maintained parks on the foreshore. Highly recommend for a brilliant family day away from the hustle and bustle of Perth.
The Bunbury Wildlife Park is an affordable and fun family day out with a family pass just $24.50 (2A2C) and kids under 3 enter free. It’s open daily from 10-5pm so it’s the perfect place for a family wildlife experience all year round.
