The Canning River Cafe, located at the Kent St Weir Park in Wilson, just 10kms South of Perth is one of the most beautifully located cafes in Perth!
This is a beautiful place for the whole family, including the family dog, to enjoy breakfast or lunch. The super friendly staff love having families and dogs dine – with dogs welcome in the alfresco area. There is a water bowl available for them and treats available to purchase at the counter so your dog can enjoy a special treat too, while you enjoy your meal.
There are toys available for the kids to play with, and they can run around on the big grassed area while you wait for your meals – like mine did below.
They have a great kids menu with affordable options, and couldn’t be more accomodating with making changes to the ingredients to suit Mr Fussy’s tastes. My boys enjoyed Fish & Burger with chips. Kids meals were only $12 and as you can see they were a good size!
There are lots of meal options including dairy & gluten free, vegan & raw food options also available.
The Canning River Cafe, is you guessed it, located along the Canning River, so you can enjoy a nature walk on one of the bitumised walking trails (trails vary in distance) before or after your meal. You can choose from various trails starting from the weir, and they are suitable for prams, bikes, scooters or walking.
Or you may like to have a play at the small playground nearby near the Kent St Weir Bridge. This also where you will find the Castledare Miniature Railway Wilson Station.
With heaters and fans, and enclosed alfresco dining & indoor dining option, Canning River Cafe is your go to for a beautiful day out no matter what the weather. The natural setting is beautiful, and this is definitely one of our favourite places for a casual family meal mixed with a bit of a nature fix!
It’s also perfect for the family looking for a morning or afternoon outdoors with the family dog enjoy some breakfast, stroll around the river or have a run around at the park. It’s also a fantastic kayaking spot!
