Champs at Play Kelmscott is a large play centre located withinthe Champion Lakes Christian Church building, which has something on offer forall kids aged 0 through to 12 years old. Being non-religious, I was hesitantabout the play centre being in a church, but quickly found out that there wasnothing to worry about – all are welcome.
The main large climbing structure has lotsof obstacles, netting and slides, plus the large shark and fighter jet locatedright at the top.
Running all the way around the climbing frame is arace track. This is no ordinary race track though – it is located about 2metres off the ground! It was definitely a favourite for my 3 year old daughterwho loved zooming round and around in the provided bikes and cars.
There are two different fenced off zones –one for 4 years and under, and one for babies.
Entry to Champs at Play Kelmscott is free for 0 – 12 months. Entry fees are scaled for 1-3years and 4-12years and you can find up to date prices on their website (linked below). There are a few items for babies and toddlers to play with. My son had lots of fun on the rocking horse in thebaby area.
Right next to the play area is the caféwith a large amount of seating. If you grab a table right next to the play areayou can keep a pretty good track of your kids playing. Thecafé has a great selection of food and drinks, and not a stale muffin in sight.Everything is made in-house. I couldn’t resist trying the Wagon Wheel slice andthe coffee was pretty good too.
Champs at Play Kelmscott isopen Wednesday to Sunday with an earlier close time during the week. Entry fees for apply for kids over 12 months. See website for entry fees and to confirm current open days and times. Champs at Play often have entry deals running on Groupon so make sure you check there for a special deal before you go.
