The Elizabeth Quay Water Park (also know as the BHP Billiton Water Park) is a fun and free zero depth water playground that runs all year round.
Located on the north west corner side of Elizabeth Quay this water playground is also a piece of art with a beauitful mosaic art piece called Pinjah, by Indigenous Visual Artist, Sandra Hill and Ceramic Artist, Jenny Dawson. Pinjah represents the Dreaming story of the creation of the Milky Way and is made up of hundreds of hand painted tiles.
The water playground streches over 1000m2 and features a few different sections that all turn on and off in a fun seqence, finishing with them all coming on together and then all going off and starting over again. The kids had a great time trying to work out what sprays were going to come on next and following them around the space. The water comes out in a mix of sprays and mist and there are sections that pool a little to form puddles.
Plus in the summer months when it runs until later at night, it also lights up.
V Burger Bar is conveniently located alongside the Elizabeth Quay Water Park, and has a range of burgers, chips, sweet treats and hot & cold drinks with something the whole family will love. There are lots of other cafes & restaurants at Elizabeth Quay as well as Island Playground on the opposite (south east) side.
There’s lots of shaded seating as well as a toilet and shower block alongside the Elizabeth Quay Water Park. It’s conveniently located near the Elizabeth Quay Train Station and the South Perth Ferry Arrival point. Both the trains and ferry run until later at night in Summer so you could catch the train or the ferry to Elizabeth Quay, enjoy a meal at one of the local cafes or restaurants and splash at the park for a beautfiul day or night out with the family.
