Floreat Beach Play Space

Unique beachside playground and family friendly space alongside The Kiosk Floreat

Floreat Beach Play Space Feature: Playground | Cafe / Restaurant Alongside | Water Play | Beach Access | BBQs | Picnic Shelters | Toilets

The Floreat Beach Play Space was upgraded in mid 2020 and is one of the most unique Perth playgrounds, made mostly from “drift” wood to for a giant sea creature, that looks it’s crawled straight out of the ocean and made it’s home here.

The sea creature centrepiece has been named the “Krakken” – which is a mythical Norwegian, octopus like sea creature. Along the tenticles are blue rings and you can climb inside the body of the Krakken to get to the little blue slide down.

They’ve totally nailed the ocean theme with water coloured soft fall that runs along the water play area to the basket swing. With the white sand on it, it totally looks like ocean water lapping against the shore. Bring the spare clothes along little ones are bound to love this little space with water, sand and sandpit toys to enjoy.

The playground is better suited to younger ones and they will also love the wooden boat that’s perched up against a wooden jetty, for some on the ocean role play.

Little climbers and aspiring ninjas will love the rope challenge play features too.

This is one of the best places in Perth to hang beachside as a family on a warm sunny day with several picnic shelters and BBQs located alongside the playground, and a sizeable grassed area to run around and picnic on.

Floreat Beach is immediately accessible from the playground area and is located alongside the Floreat Surf Life Saving Club so it’s a safe place for a swim when the flags are in place. There are showers located in the nearby toilet block and a shower and water fountain outside alongside the playground also.

The Kiosk Floreat is located alongside the play area and has both a sit down restaurant and kiosk with window for takeaways too. was You can read more about The Kiosk Floreat in our review here.

The Floreat Beach Play Space is the perfect place for families to hang out beach side, enjoy a bbq or a picnic, meet with friends or to have a play while dining at the restaurant.
