If you are holidaying in Singapore with kids you simply must visit the Gardens By The Bay, Bay South, Singapore. It’s just a short walk from Marina Bay Sands, and easily accessible using the Singapore MRT also.
Catch the train to Bayfront MRT – you can either walkthrough the gardens or catch a shuttle (there is a stop near the Bayfront MRT) which is $2 per person for 2 rides.Entry to the Gardens by the Bay is free.
If you are staying atthe Marina Bay Sands – you can walk across the bridge which can be accessedfrom the ground level from the elevator located at the front of the Marina Bay Sands hotel nextto Tower 2.
If you are visiting with children your first stop simplymust be the Children’s Garden . Kids willlove the water playground splash pad, best of all entry to the Children’s Garden is also free – but note it is closed on Monday’s (and if there is a public holiday on the Monday the preceeding Tuesday it will be closed).
Children’s Playground Water Playground with the Children’s Garden
There’s no shade over the water playground area but there is a large shaded seating area right alongside the water playground. There is a small cafe nearby the water playground were you can purchase affordable food, drinks and icecream.
Toddler Play Area within the Children’s Garden – designed for kids 1-5yrs
This area has quite good natural shade some covered seating areas, is right alongside the water playground and pictured just behind the umbrellas is the Children’s Garden Cafe where you can purchase very affordable drinks, food and icecreams.
Treehouses Playground within the Children’s Garden – designed for kids 6-12yrs
Entry to The Treehouses is right near the water playground and you can climb up and access the Adventure Trail (below)
Adventure Trail within the Children’s Garden – designed for 6-12 yrs
You can also enter the Adventure Trail from right near the water playground entry. Follow this around and you’ll find The Treehouses (above) and you can slide down and head back to the water playground
Don’t forget there is a small café here with very affordable drinks, food and ice-cream – and lots of seating areas to enjoy your meal or snack near the water playground and toddler play area.
Not far from the Adventure Playground you can find this great giant aquarium and cactus garden too!
Just a short walk from the Children’s Playground is the Skyway walk at the Supertree Grove. This is just $5 for adults & $3 for kids (u3 free). It’s fully pram accessible and gives you a great view over the gardens. Or just wander round for free and look up at these magnificent structures!
Here you can also find the “Supertree Dining” which is an indoor dining food hall type place with lots of food options like pizza, Mexican, local cuisine and more. It’s fully air-conditioned and well priced so it’s a great place to escape the heat during your visit. You can find high chairs here too.
If you can we highly recommend you take the time to wander around the gardens, if you have little ones take a pram or stroller, there is so much to see with features all throughout the gardens.
The Dragon Fly walk is also really nice you can look through these viewers and read about the fauna and flora found in the area. You can do this on your way in our way out if you enter from the Bayfront MRT.
There are also two large domes the Cloud Forest & Flower Dome, you’ll need to purchase tickets to enter these – they are around $20 for adults and $12 for kids to enter both domes.
Put aside at least half a day to visit the Gardens by the Bay, if not all day if you plan to also explore the domes.

Getting Around : take a stroller or pram if you have young children and use the shuttle to get from the Bayside MRT to the Conservatories (the Children’s Forest isn’t far from here).
