If you looking for somewhere the head out for casual, fun and affordable authentic Mexican meal you can’t go past Guzman Y Gomez at Cockburn Gateway,
Guzman Y Gomez is located on the food strip at Cockburn Gateway on the outside of the shopping centre, so is easily accessible day and night. All the seating is elevated on high stools and it’s quite a loud atmosphere with music playing to add to the authentic Mexican feel.
You can choose to sit outside or inside, and you place your order up at the counter. We were lucky on this occassion that it was kids eat free Monday – Wednesday, an this meant both of my kids got a free kids pick meal with my meal. I ordered the nacho’s with the most amazing slow cooked beef and the kids had kids nacho’s and a kids buritto. All up for the 3 of us it was $13! I was pretty happy with that being school holidays – it’s always great to find a good value place to eat. (Note: Kids Eat Free offer is only at the Mt Lawley, Cockburn and Northbridge stores).
This is the kids nachos, might not look like much but it was a big hit with my little fussy eater. His brother had a kids chicken burrito and he loved this too. There’s no fancy presentation all meals served in these cardboard bowls, but the food is delicious. I’ve only ever had nachos with mince and cheesy corn chips, these more mild corn chips with delicious soft and tender beef nachos where just amazing.
If you feel like you need something sweet afterwards, you can get one long churro for just $2 and it comes with a delicious chocolate dipping sauce. Or perhaps you could just pop in for a cheap sweet treat on its own.
They enjoyed a play on the play equipment located just outside the food strip at Cockburn Gateway, which is perfect or a before or after meal play.
The kids loved their little lunch at Guzman Y Gomez and asked if we could come back and have regular family mexican nights, so I am sure we will be back soon, particularly Monday to Wednesday while the kids eat free offer is on. If you want to take the family out for some authentic mexican we highly recommend Guzman Y Gomez. The food is delicous, service is friendly , atmostphere is relaxed and it won’t hurt your wallet. Other locations in addition to Cockburn Gateway include Mt Lawley, Northbridge, Perth Airport, Belmont Forum, Westfield Whitfords & Leederville.
