Enjoy a family friendly and affordable inner city stay at the Hyatt Regency Perth

Hyatt Regency Perth Features: 5 Star Hotel | 19m Outdoor Heated Swimming Pool | Tennis Court | Sauna | Gym | Free WiFi | In RoomTea & Coffee Making | Mini Bar Fridge | Close to Red Cat Route

The Hyatt Regency Perth is the perfect destination for a Perth city family staycation with well appointed rooms, huge outdoor heated pool and located walking distance from both the East Perth and CBD precincts.

We booked a 1 King Bed Room (without river views) for an affordable price (under $150 midweek out of school holidays booked through Hotels Combined ) on the first floor (same floor as the pool). It was myself and my two boys and they included a rollaway bed at no extra cost.

Our room included 2 complimentary bottles of water and a bottle of wine on arrival. Our room was very stylish and included, tea and coffee making, small fridge, large tv and a small balcony. The bathroom was nice too with a shower and bath and the beds were super comfortable.

Being on the same floor as the pool was fantastic. We visited the pool 4 times during our one night stay. Before dinner after dinner, before breakfast and after breakfast. The kids couldn’t get enough of splashing about in the 19m long pool and relaxing on the deckchairs. The length of the pool makes it perfect for active families like us to do laps. This was the main reason for choosing this hotel, as there aren’t too may hotels in the city with pools of this size. The pool is heated to 27 degrees all year round and is surrounded by artificial grass, decking and garden beds with lots of sun lounges spaced around the pool and the upper deck. Poolside dining may be availabe during busy periods and the warmer months.

There is a tennis court alongside the pool however it didn’t have a net during our visit.

There weren’t too many restaurants open near the Hyatt Regency, however both the Perth CBD and East Perth district is approximately 20-30min walk away and there are restaurants open closer to these restaurant precinct areas. There are some surrounding hotels that may also have open restaurants. We ordered Uber Eats to eat in our room before we went down to the pool for a night swim. A few convenience stores are located on the same block as the Hyatt Regency with one open 24/7, for basic supplies.

We enjoyed in room dining for breakfast, the kids had eggs benedict and pancakes and I wanted something light so I got a yogurt from the convenience store the night before and kept it in the mini bar fridge.

If you are looking for a family friendly, affordable, inner city getaway at a hotel with a big pool then you’ll love the Hyatt Regency Perth. All the staff were super friendly and offered fantastic service, responding promptly to requests and delivering room service in good time and with a smile. While at the time of the review the Hyatt Regency was a part quarantine hotel this offered us the opportunity for an affordable and quiet stay.
