Yesterday we visited Iluka Foreshore Park. It was a very busy little park with a family hosting a birthday party and lots of happy kids running around.
The playground boasts a nautical theme and caters for both younger and older children. There is pirate themed, boat shaped wooden play structure with a parrot atop, slide, climbing frame and wheel.
Next there are stepping stones and turtles to balance on whilst heading towards the swings.
The swings are a little wobbly and lack a baby seat.
To the right of this is a ship themed sand pit with climbing frames and crows nest tower to climb. The tower has a talk tube so friends and family below can talk to the ships captain.
There are also bars and balance ropes in the sandpit area and in between the ships there is a basket swing which is always a favourite with the kids.
The park itself overlooks the ocean and has BBQs, covered and uncovered picnic benches, a sheltered area, a cycle path suitable for scooter enthusiasts, refurbished toilet block, ample parking and an overall calming vibe. You can also enjoy breakfast or dinner weekends from a food truck that frequents the park on Friday nights and weekends.
