Jo Wheatley All Abilities Play Space (formerly Beaton Park) Nedlands is truly a playground for everyone. Parents, grandparents and kids of all abilities will love playing together here, alongside the beautiful Nedlands Foreshore. This fully fenced playground covers 10,000 square metres and features complete wheelchair access, a sensory walkway, flying fox, a range of different swings, water play and much more.
The main wooden fort is suited to younger children, with low level play including a couple of slides, ladder climb and cubbies underneath. Around the fort are lots of wooden nature based play features under a large shady tree.
Also alongside the wooden fort is a spinning carousel that includes wheelchair access.
Little ones will love the water play area, make sure you bring a spare change of clothes along.
You can also find a Sensory Garden in the play space, with lots of musical instruments to delight the senses.
There is the coolest choice of swings at Jo Wheatley All Abilities Play Space. A selection like we haven’t seen at any other playground. The bright orange lay back swings and the parent/older sibling & child swing is very unique too. There is also a double toddler swing set.
For the big kids they will love the sports are with ping pong tables, lots of games marked out on the ground and a ball game with two different heights (one for big kids and a lower one for smaller kids or perhaps kids in wheelchairs).
They’ll also love the big climbing dome and double cable flying fox.
This play space truly has something for all ages including the grandparents. Check out the Seniors Park. It features exercise equipment focused on building strength and balance.
Jo Wheatley All Abilities Play Space has toilets, bbqs, picnic tables, water fountains and lots of dedicated parking. Cafes & Restaurants are just a short drive away on Broadway, Nedlands.
The whole family, even the grand parents will love spending the day at Jo Wheatley All Abilities Play Space. With all abilities play and access, this is a park that is truly for everyone.
