John MacMillan Park is positioned between the Victoria Park Library and The Park Centre in East Victoria Park and received a $1.1 million upgrade that was completed in July 2019.
This gorgeous little playground is mostly suited to younger children with nature based play under both natural shade and shade sails, as well as a basketball court and table tennis for the bigger kids too.
Most of the play features have been built with wooden logs giving the playground it’s natural feel. The main play structure features low level play with a low angle cargo net and double slide.
The playground also includes a set of swings that includes a toddler swing and a basket swing.
Little ones will also love the mud kitchen and giant blackboards in the centre of the playground.
Victoria Park Library is located right next to the John MacMillan Park, Story Time is Tuesday and Thursday mornings during the term for kids 2 – 5 years at 9.30am and Baby Rhyme Time is Fridays for babies 0 – 2 years at 9am or 10am. The Park Centre is just across the road too so you can grab a coffee and a treat to enjoy at the playground or head over to the shops before or after your play to get some shopping done or have something to eat. Having both the library and shops nearby are also handy for sheltering from the rain, so you can play on a rainy day. Toilets are located next to the playground near the car park, and there is plenty of grassed area to run around also.
John MacMillan Park East Victoria Park is more than just a play, it’s the perfect place for a full morning or afternoon outing with something fun for the whole family and with the library and shopping centre nearby too you’ll love spending the day away here.
