The Karratha Leisureplex offers everything you need for an affordable family day in the sunshine with two pools, plenty of leisure swimming area, water playground and picnic / BBQ facilities.
As it’s pretty hot all year round all the aquatic features are outdoors. The 50m lane has ramp entry pool and a movable boom that converts this pool to a 25m pool so it can be used for water polo also. During our visit a section of this pool was available for leisure.
The smaller 25m pool is heated and includes lanes as well as a shallow leisure area with a small duck slide, several sprays and can be fully covered by a retractable shade sail.
Alongside the outdoor pools is also a zero depth water playground with water sprays, cannons and tipping buckets. The water playground is activated by a sensor.
The outdoor area features a large grassed area with BBQs and shaded picnic tables so you can enjoy a picnic or BBQ lunch as part of your day out at the Karratha Leisureplex. The BBQ and picnic area is well positioned in front of the leisure pool area and with a good view of the water playground too.
If you don’t want to pack your own food you can enjoy a snack or light meal from Flex Cafe. The cafe covered outdoor dining area looks out onto the water playground and has plenty of tables and chairs to sit at.
There’s plenty of room to dine indoors too. The Karratha Leisureplex also runs group fitness classes, has gym access, basketball and squash court hire and a children’s creche.
If you are holidaying in the Pilbara, the Karratha Leisureplex is a great place for families to cool off and enjoy some fun in the sunshine.
