The Kwillena Gabi Circular Beach Pool Mandurah first opened after it’s construction was completed in December 2021. The pool has been named after the traditional Binjareb Boodja owners and means “dolphin waters”.
The pool has been constructed along the Eastern Foreshore close to the Mandurah Bridge and pedestrian overpass, that connects the Eastern and Western foreshores.
It’s constructed with curved pontoons that float on top of the water and join to create a full enclosed circle pool. There is no shark net or barrier so marine life (including dolphins) can freely enter and exit the pool area.
There are steps and a ramp to the beach entry and the circular pathway around the pool is has full pram and disability access.
The depth extends as you swim out and it’s deep enough at the far end to jump off the floating pontoons into the water, and there are ladders so you can jump in and hop out over and over again.
A couple of shelters are located around the pool that offer some shade and there is plenty of shaded grassed area on the foreshore. There is an area under construction on the foreshore that will be used to host events, food trucks etc.
The Kwillena Gabi Circular Beach Pool Mandurah is patrolled during busy periods, however watch around water and parental supervision is also required. A toilet & shower block as well as BBQs are located nearby on the foreshore.
There is also an open beach area right alongside the Kwillena Gabi Circular Beach Pool, with a couple of shelters on the shore that offer some shade.
The whole family will love having a swim or a splash at the Kwillena Gabi Circular Beach Pool Mandurah. With a shallow entry that extends out to a deeper area suitable for jumping into the water over and over again, is a great place for families with kids of all ages to hang out while in Mandurah. Keep an eye on updates too, the big playground on the Western Foreshore just a short walk from here is well under construction!
