Kwinana Adventure Park is so much more than just a playground, this space is an important link that brings together the community of Kwinana and it’s visitors – all ages and all abilities, all year round. This incredible park was built in close consultation with the community for the community with an environmental focus on tree preservation and sustainability.

There are a few things that set Kwinana Aventure Park aside from other parks in Perth. Firstly the level of consultation with the community on the design of the park, and the involvement of the community in certain features of the park. This including the features in the park that ensure it is accessible and designed such that it can be enjoyed by all ages and abilities.

Much work was also done to preserve the trees that were present in this area before the construction of the park. This involved having the health of every single tree checked by a tree pathologist to ensure trees are safe now and in the future.

The youth in the community have contributed lots of artworks to the park. Art work features heavily in the park, with pieces throughout the playground, even hanging from the trees, so make sure you look up into the trees during your visit.

Lastly, the management of this park will include two City of Kwinana Grounds Persons maintaining the park daily, and monitored night vision CCTV is in place throughout the park.

The Tree Walk is the centrepiece of this park. It’s a long series of ramps that runs amongst the densest area of trees and progresses from a tall section for the bigger kids and down to a lower section perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. The design of the Tree Walk exceeds Australian Standards for accessibility, designed for complete pram, wheelchair and even gopher access. Some of the trees around the Tree Walk are hundreds of years old, and they provide excellent shading in this area and give it a very natural, peaceful feel. You almost feel like you are miles away in a forest.

While you are wandering the Tree Walk look out for these yellow circles and stand on them to ring the bells underneath. There are also a few other surprises on the Tree Walk to give kids (and grownups) a sense of risk and excitement.

The Tree Walk progresses from the tallest platform which is three levels high and has 7 ways to access it to a lower section with lower slides and climbs for little ones.

At the lower end of the Tree Walk is a toddler play area with big xylophone and even a musical seat!

The Tree Walk is fun underneath too. With hammocks and tunnels and lots of different ways to climb up to the Tree Walk, so make sure you explore under here too.

Alongside the Tree Walk is a climbing net and all abilities double cable flying fox

This sand play area is one of the best we have seen. The sand play and water pumps are both designed to be the right height and accessible for those in a wheelchair.

There is no shortage of swings with a range of swings including an all abilities swing, big and small birds nest swing and a double toddler swing (there is another double toddler swing in the top toddler play area also – see below).

Last but not least, is the amazing splash pad. The splash pad will run all year round.  It has three buttons in total which are fun for the kids to find. They start three different water features. Outdoor showers are available alongside the splash pad, so please ensure your kids shower before and after using the splash pad.  Make sure you turn the white wheel under the pelicans – their beaks fill up and then tip over to drop all the water down on the kids below.
