Lakeside Holiday Apartments (formerly River Resort) South Yunderup is located along the picturesque Murray River and features beautiful 2,3 & 4 bedroom accommodation and makes the perfect location for a resort style family holiday just an hours drive from Perth city. Whether you are looking for somewhere to stay and relax or for somewhere to stay while you check out the site’s of Mandurah and the Peel Region, River Resort is perfect for both.
We stayed in a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment and this modern fully self contained apartment was located right on the water’s edge with the balcony overlooking the water. It was very modern with everything we needed in the kitchen and even a small laundry with washing machine also. In the pictured 2 bedroom apartment there was a good sized bathroom off each bedroom. The kids loved feeding the fish (fish food available free from reception) from the balcony each morning – there were always lots of koi ready and waiting to be fed and it wasn’t long before all the ducks joined in too.
Of course it wasn’t long before arriving and unpacking before the kids were asking to hit the pool. The resort features a large pool that has a shallow shaded wading pool attached to the main pool.
We spent most of our time by the pool, there are a couple of shaded gazebos and sun lounges under the palm trees – so it definitely has a resort holiday feel to it. The big pool is just a short walk across the road from the 2 bedroom apartments. There is a smaller pool in this complex too.
The tennis court is right alongise the pool – so we did a lot of going between the tennis court and pool. We brought our tennis racquets along but we think you can hire them from the office also.
Another favourite was the children’s games room. It overlooks the water and is a great place for the kids to have a break from the sun – or gives them something to do if it’s a rainy day.

You can also hire canoes for $20 for half a day. It’s just a short 2 min stroll down to the Murray River where you can launch your canoes and enjoy a paddle down the river. Life jackets are provided also.
Jetty’s Bar and Grill is also located just short stroll from the resort, right near where you launch the canoes. It’s open daily and you can find out more about Jetty’s Bar and Grill on their facebook.

If you need some time out to rest and relax – there is a DVD player in the accommodation or you can head up to reception and rent a DVD for $2. Here you can also get ice creams and some basic necessities.
The River Resort South Yunderup is about 10 mins drive from Pinjarra where there is a big Coles and lots of other shops and cafes. It’s about 15 mins to the sights and attractions of Mandurah and just a few minutes drive to the Ravenswood Hotel where you can enjoy a meal and a drink overlooking the Murray River (there is also a little kids playground here too.) It’s also just a few minutes drive from the Austin Lakes Estate where you can play at the big $3.5M Adventurescape Playground .
We highly recommend a stay at the Lakeside Holiday Apartments South Yunderup. The whole family will love it and it’s perfect for somewhere to stay and relax or if you are looking for somewhere affordable to stay while you take in the sights and attractions of Mandurah and the Peel Region.
