Maison Saint Honore is a beautiful French styled Cake & Macaron Factory in the Swan Valley (Caversham), that features a family friendly countryside French setting to sit back and enjoy a coffee and some traditional French delights.
As you arrive you will be taken back by the striking garden setting with shaded blackboard, cubby house playground, garden toys and sandpit for the kids. Lots of throw rugs are provided so you can pull up an available table or set yourself up picnic style on the lawn.
The outdoor playground features a large wooden cubby house with slides, a wooden see-saw, tee pee and balancing logs and climbing wall.
Once you’ve got the kids settled in you can head inside and check out the cakes, macarons and other traditional French treats on display. You can select from the display or order something from menu which includes sweet and savoury crepes, traditional French desserts and a few light kids meals (kids meals include ham & cheese toastie, tuna sandwich and ham & cheese crepe $7- check website for up to date menu and prices). You can of course get yourself a coffee also or choose from a range of water, juices or enjoy a wine, beer or cider.
You can also select some macarons to go or choose from the big range of packaged macarons and other sweet treets to take with you or to give as a gift.
I decided on the Salted Caramel Homemade Icecream with Macaron Sandwich and I was not disappointed. I’m not really a fan of Macarons, well at least I wasn’t, but this beauty completely converted me. Great price too, just $8 (check website for up to date menu and prices) and was definitely big enough, I couldn’t fit another thing in.
You can also enjoy indoor or alfresco dining if weather doesn’t permit to sit outside and enjoy the grassed area. There is a second garden dining area with lots of different seating options from ground level lounges to sun lounges. Kids will also love this area with a soccer ball and plenty of room to run around.
Maison Saint Honore is a must if you are visiting in the Swan Valley, but don’t just pop in, make sure you plan some time to relax and enjoy this little piece of France in our beautiful Swan Valley.
