McIntyre Park Burns Beach is a very cool ocean themed playground in a quiet section of this northern coastal suburb that looks like it came straight out of a story book.

McIntyre Park Burns Beach is a funky playground with an ocean/pirate theme, featuring two wooden pirate boat shaped play structures complete with ship sails and ships steering wheel.

It’s a great park for all ages with a great little cubby house, which has a little table and chairs inside so a cute spot to enjoy morning or afternoon tea. There is also traditional swings and a birdsnest and a couple of bouncy play features.

Make sure you get the kids to count the seagulls perched around the playground too

There’s plenty of rope climbing and balancing challenges the kids will love and the big slide with cubby entrance was popular too.

Next to the playground is a large grassed area and a set of soccer goals if the kids want to have a run around and kick a ball. There are also footpaths around the playground so it’s a good playground for riding scooters or small bikes.

There are no toilets unfortunately and very little shade over the playground area so a it’s a better park to visit during the cooler weather.  There are lots of BBQs and picnic shelters so it is a nice spot to catch up with friends and family. It’s a good spot for a pirate birthday party too.
