Mirror Park Ocean Reef – For Skateboarding & BMX Perth

Take on the ramps & jumps with your scooter, skateboard or bmx at this awesome skate park in Ocean Reef!

* Skateboarding / BMX Ramps * Water fountain * Lots of Parking * Playground * Full Video Surveillance *Toilet Block

This once sandy bmx track, has been transformed by the City of Joondalup into a state of the art skateboarding and bmx park at Mirror Park Ocean Reef.  Located on Ocean Reef Road at the corner of Oceanside Promenade.  It has been designed for use with skateboards, scooters and bmx – with varying ramps to suit different skill levels from beginners up to advanced riders.

Hours of use for the park are Monday – Saturday 7am-7pm and Sundays 9am-7pm. This is a very popular spot for the local skateboarding and bmx community and a great, safe place to take the kids to burn off some energy in the school holidays.  There were kids there of varying ages, with plenty of flat pathways for younger children, and bigger ramps and a bowl for the more advanced riders. Mirror Park is a great stop to skate or scooter if you have children of varying ages.

For the  younger kids who there is also a great little playground alongside the skate park – unfortunately there is no shade over the playground however. While big brother or sister skate or bmx at the park, little brother or sister can play at the playground, so it’s a great morning or afternoon out for the whole family.  It’s located on a large reserve so there’s also plenty of room to kick a ball, fly a kite or just have a run around!

Just be aware there are usually lots of older children and teenagers using the park.  From talking to regular users of the park – there seems to be few issues with unsociable behaviour, however expect there to be older kids that move around pretty quick so younger children need to closely supervised to ensure they are watching and staying clear of faster moving skateboards, scooters and bikes.

There are plenty of seated and grassed areas around so you can enjoy a picnic while you watch the kids.  It’s also right alongside a footpath, so younger children can bike or skate up and down here instead of within the skate park.  While we were there we saw kids as young as 3 having a go – so it’s great for all ages as long as the appropriate level of supervision is applied. There is full video surveillance to deter unsociable behaviour and to monitor use times.
