Mulder Park (AKA) John and Jean Mulder Park Claremont) is a delightful little playground with two play areas that has cafe and burger restaurant right next door.
At the top is a little toddler play area with a slide built into the slope. This section is quite close to the road but it is a steep incline to reach the road.
We love the “m” shaped winding path that takes you down a slight incline to the bigger playground at the bottom. This nice wide parth is perfect for scooters and bikes and they’ll burn lots of energy riding up and down over and over again.
The park is mostly unshaded, some trees have been planted but will obviously take some time to provide much shade, so we suggest this park is best enjoyed when it’s not too or perhaps early morning or late afternoon. Not sure what the go is with the swings pictured above, we read elsewhere they are meant to be adults swings (?). There is also a bit of nature based play with a couple of areas where kid can enjoy climbing on rocks. Parking is along Davies Road with parking bays on the roadside
We know we had you when we said there was coffee nearby. Davies Ground is just at the top of the hill along the main road in the building right alongside Mulder Park Claremont. They boast delicious breakfast, lunch, cakes, sweets, exceptional coffee (including vegan, paleo and gluten free options) and are open Monday – Saturday 7-3pm. Bilby’s Burgers are also located next the park in the same complex and are open Tues – Sun for breakfast. lunch and dinner.
