The Perth Cultural Centre Play Space has preserved all the play features your kids used to love from the previous play space that was located in front of the old Perth Museum and placed them just across from the new Boola Bardip Museum alongside the Polly Coffee Bar.

It has been strategically placed under natural shade, is fully fenced with one gate entry point that is pram and disabled access and is open 8am – 7pm daily.

The Perth Cultural Centre has a focus on nature and sensory play. The sign says it’s suited to kids 6-13 years, however we think younger children will love this space too.

The space features talk tubes, spinning wheels, balancing poles and logs, rocks and big lizard carved out of wood.

Alongside The Perth Cultural Centre Play Space is Polly Coffee Bar. It’s a small cafe and has a shaded seating area. It’s provides a range of hot & cold drinks including tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milkshakes, light snacks, treats and ice-cream. It’s open from 6.30am – 6pm weekdays and 7am – 5pm weekdays. Toilets are nearby in the WA State Library.

There’s lots to explore in the Perth Cultural Centre too with the James St Amphitheatre showing short films and features on the big screen, explore all the greenery in The Urban Orchard, wander the Art Gallery of WA (entry is free), the Story Place at the WA State Library , the Perth Cultural Centre Swamp and of course the Boola Bardip WA Musuem.

The Perth Cultural Centre Play Space is a lovely place to enjoy a fenced play with a coffee and a treat or light snack. It’s just a short stroll from the Perth Train Station so it’s the perfect train adventure destination and will also make a fun addition to your visit to the WA Museum Boola Bardip.
