If you haven’t been to a Perth Wildcats, National Basketball League (NBL) game yet, then you must catch a Perth Wildcats game with the family at the Perth Arena this NBL season!
Even if you and the family are not much into basketball the whole family will enjoy watching the Perth Wildcats play at the Perth Arena. The NBL season starts around early October with finals around March the following year, with home games played regularly at the Perth Arena.
We went to a game late in the 2012/2013 season just before the finals started. Before the game they had the Alcohol – Think Again, inflatable basketball ring outside and were giving away horns to those that had a go!
We went along with a few kids aged between 6 & 10 yrs, and they all had a fantastic time! The Wildcats commentator does a fantastic job of keeping the crowd engaged throughout the game. During the game they had dance cam, where you have to dance and if the camera lands on you, you win a prize. They also shot out prizes from big bazooka type guns into the crowd.
The mascots and Muzz Buzz dancers also do their bit to keep the crowd entertained during breaks and time outs!
The game goes for about 2 hours so it’s not too much of a late night for young children, there were lots of people with babies there too – it’s pretty loud though so we saw lots of babies with earmuffs on.
And if you wait around after the game you might be lucky enough to get some autographs and photos with the players. We were lucky to get autographs and a photo with Greg Hire, I cannot tell you how excited the kids were! By the time we left the Perth Wildcats had 4 new big fans!! My son is now playing basketball and is hanging out to go to his first game this season
How to Get There: All Perth Wildcats tickets include, a return train fare – you just have to show your tickets to the Railway Officers and keep them on you for the ride home.
Parking at the Perth Arena is $15 – if you do this, validate your ticket when you go in so you are not lining up for ages on the way out.
There are also carparks and street parking around the Perth Arena area if you don’t mind a short walk.
What to Bring: The game and crowd can get quite noisy so we recommend you bring along baby or kids ear muffs if they are sensitive to noise.
Cost: Tickets start at $20 for adults, and $10 for kids (or a family pass 2A/2C $50) and can be purchased at Ticketek
