Pick your own strawberries!? What! Just when you thought picking your own fruit in Perth was nothing but a thing of the past, Ti Farm opened up their Pick Your Own Strawberries Farm Bullsbrook in 2014 and it is open Mid Winter to December each year, because turns out picking your own strawberries is not so old school, the people of Perth love it!

Before you jump in the car there are a couple of things to know. Pick your own strawberries is available based on supplies so make sure you check their facebook (link at the end of this review) before you head out to Bullsbrook. The season starts July/August and depending on stocks goes until Nov-Dec.

This is a farm and kids will get dirty, so dress the kids in clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. Gumboots or closed in shoes are highly recommended.  Please also remember there is a lot of vehicle and farm activity, so supervise children closely while at the farm.

Access down the middle of the strawberry fields is narrow so not suitable for pram access, and the fields are quite big so expect a lot of walking.

It’s $10 per box, which is approx 5-6kg, maxium 5 people per tray (see their facebook link below for update to pricing). Your tray will get quite heavy so make sure you are prepared to carry it across all the fields.  This is best for children who are old enough to walk unassisted and can help carry the tray – or if you have younger children make sure you have plenty of other adult assistance or bring along a baby carrier. There is also a $2 entry fee per person

Tip! Bring along a few ice-cream containers for each of your kids to fill them have them tip them into your box – so you can carry the heavy box!

Remember, it is quite hard work, there is a lot of walking and it can be very warm. There are no toilets or facilities, so bring lots of water along, wear hats & sunscreen, and consider wearing a fly net, flies can be terrible in this area during summer and always check the facebook page for the latest updates on open days and times right before you go.

What to Bring: closed in shoes / gumboots recommended, sunscreen, hats, water, cash
