Pixels brings the old school favourites back to life in this action packed movie families will love. When earth is attacked by what is determined to be some sort of alien technology, President Will Cooper (Kevin James) calls on long time friend Sam Brenner (Adam Sandler) an old school video game champion to help save the world. Pixels brings old favourites like Pacman and Space Invaders back to life, to engage the young and the young at heart.
Pixels is action packed and you feel as though you are in the game too with amazing visual effects and a great soundtrack too. The love-hate relationship between Sam & Lieutenant Violet (Michelle Monahan) makes for some hilarious laughs for the grown-ups but also presents some sexual references and there was some course language throughout the movie also.
With a return in popularity with younger ones for the old school computer games lead by Minecraft, and the nostalgic trip down memory lane for the older generation, Pixels is the perfect pairing of old and new, to bring to life this hilarious action packed movie, that bigger kids and adults alike will love.
From an adults perspective this was one of the best movies I have every seen. Adam Sander was at his very best and the old school game graphics took me right back down memory lane, but it was amazing to see my younger children relating to these old school games too. Pixels only lost points for the occasional coarse language are sexual references which I think most went over my kids heads anyway. It is very loud and action packed too, so we recommend this movie for older children and their parents.
Kids Around Perth gives Pixels 9.5/10
Some sexual references * some course language * very loud and action may frighten younger children * Recommended for 7 years +
