First of all was the entertainment – with Spiderman being the flavour of the month, I decided on finding a Spiderman Bouncy Castle, but wanted a bigger one with a slide. I thought if we are going to spend the money on it I’d prefer to get a bigger one so it hopefully got used more and also we had some bigger kids coming along too!
This decision paid off, as the kids played on this fantastic Spiderman Bouncy Castle from Perth Bouncy Castle Hire , for the whole time we had it, there wasn’t one minute there wasn’t a child on the castle for the whole hire period.
This bouncy castle with slide cost us $300 for 4 hours + $50 for delivery (this is free if you are a bit closer to Canning Vale than we were). You can also hire if for 7 hours for only $50 more – just $350.
The sandbags were supposed to be $50 but they threw the sand bags in for free (even at $50 this was a much cheaper option than paying the bond and park hire fees to the council at our local park).

We can highly recommend the bouncy castle with the slide, they delivered it early so we had it for 5 hours and it was used the entire time. The bigger castle is also great if you have older kids coming along to the party.

Now onto the next important thing – the cake! Master 4 was promised a Spiderman cake, but because we went for the bigger bouncy castle a full custom made cake wasn’t in our budget. I did some research and found Kasy Cake Toppers and contacted her about doing some Spiderman cake toppers.
She did these toppers including a 3D Spiderman, stars, spiders, name and age for just $45 – and she was located close to us in Claremont.
So I made the cake myself, then used to toppers to make this great Spiderman cake that Master 4 was over the moon happy with. It’s not quite a professional looking cake but a bit fancier than a home made cake with a flat cake topper, so it’s a great affordable option of you want something a bit special on a budget.
Check out Kasy’s website, she specialises in making custom characters – and has recently done some fantastic human figures in likeness to the person or in the theme of the birthday person or persons getting married.
Check out the wedding toppers on her website – some ideas include, a 3D figurine to resemble Dad who loves golf, or maybe a football themed bride and groom topper. Whatever it is you need get in touch with Kasy and see what she can do!

Lastly I wanted a few bits and pieces for decorations and party bags so I went online to Shop Now HQ , while they are online they are located in Perth so regular post delivery was super quick!
I ordered Spiderman rings cupcake toppers, Batman party bags, and Spiderman temporary tattoos, and they arrived in the mail within a few days of ordering.

All in all our Superhero party was a success, even though as per usual I left it until the last minute to organise. The birthday boy crashed out not long after the bouncy castle had gone and slept all night, and even had a bit of a sleep in!
