Bicton Baths
Bicton Baths is our favourite Swan River swimming and picnic spot. The kids love jumping off the jetty and exploring the crystal clear water for shells and starfish. There is a playground and BBQs at the top of the hill and lots of shady grassed area to picnic for the day. Read more…
Matilda Bay Crawley
Matilda Bay is beautiful spot for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, standup paddleboarding or lazing around on a big inflatable. Kids will love jumping off the pontoon and the Matilda Bay Tea Rooms are located right near the pontoons – or you can enjoy a picnic or BBQ on the shady foreshore right near the waters edge. Keane’s Point Peppermint Grove
If you are looking for a nice place for the kids to play alongside the Swan River, Keane’s Point Peppermint Grove is perfect. It has lots of natural and man made shade over the playground, and there are some great swimming spots here too. Swan Canning River Park Como
If you love a bit of adventure this is a good spot to take a little picnic and enjoy some time splashing around in the water. A bit difficult to access, you’ll need to park in Como and walk over the bridge. The bridge has ramp access so kids might like riding their little bikes or scooters across. You will find some lovely decks for enjoying a picnic or a full picnic shelter if you want some shade. No so great for swimming or wading on a low tide however. Read more…
