You won’t find any carnival rides, clowns or show bags at The Funarium at Claremont Showgrounds July 7th – 9th. All 40 activities across 10 zones are based on educational, creative, imaginative and hands on activities for kids 4-12yrs with 95% of activities indoors – making this the perfect winter school holiday activity.

From an 80m zip line (Action Zone) to exploring the sky with the World’s Largest Science Project (Cosmic Science Zone) or meeting the My Kitchen Rules teams while cooking up a storm (Cookhouse Zone), there’s something to suit all personalities and interests.

Other highlights include photography workshops with Nathan from CH7’s Get Arty; 800L marine touch pool with Critters Up Close; 350m giant obstacle course; hip hop dance lessons; the RAC Rescue Experience in a helicopter; kids yoga; building a tepee from scratch with Nature Play; St John’s ambulance tours and VR technology.

The ten zones are Action, Arty Party, Build It, Cosmic Science, Cuddle, Funky Town, My Backyard, Tech Heaven, The Cookhouse and When I Grow Up. Celebrity encounters building a herb planter box with Andrew and Jono from House Rules and meeting My Kitchen Rules teams int he Cookhouse.

The different zones are well spread out to reduce crown congestion and the indoor pavilions have plenty of room for prams. Food is available to purchase however you are permitted to bring snacks along (no meals or picnics). Kids under 4 enter free and do not require ticket, however activities are not catered to this age. Parking at the Claremont Showgrounds is $5 or you can catch the train and get off at the Showgrounds Station.
