The Swim School is located in Merriwa, Ocean Reef and Wangara and looks after your families swimming lesson needs from 4 months old. They provide Parent & Baby & Learn to Swim Classes, Squads, early morning Lap Swimming, even Birthday Parties!
Did you know that The Swim School is AustSwim Recognised ? What does that mean? This means that The Swim School has been recognised by the industry body AustSwim as meeting industry standards and best practice.
For those with health insurance with BUPA & HCF, depending on your cover, this also means that you may be able to claim your child’s swimming lessons. Contact your health insurance provider to determine if you are entitled to a rebate for your child’s swimming lessons – The Swim School can provide you with the information required by your insurer if required.

The Swim School pools are a warm 32 deg all year round. Master 4 is checking the pool temp at Merriwa here before he jumps in for his lesson.
The pool is 0.8m deep so kids from around 3-4 years can stand up in the pool. All the instructors are qualified swim instructors (no – it’s not a legislative requirement for instructors to be trained – however only qualified instructors are used at The Swim School – as instructor training is an essential part of maintaining their AustSwim Recognition)
My son thoroughly enjoyed his lesson with Sam that included swimming up and down, practising kicking, stroke technique and putting his head under the water and of course there was time at the end for some fun with a game of “What’s the Time Mr Wolf”.
The Swim School staff are not only well qualified, they are friendly and take an interest in each and every student that swims at the school. It was great to hear a girl yell out hello and wave with excitement to her teacher in the pool as she entered the pool area. They have a wall of photos of kids with their awards – and take pride in the achievements of their students.
They also provide Parent & Baby Classes from 4m old, and what I like about The Swim School is that the centre is intimate and the pool area is smaller than some other swim schools and therefore there are not as many people trying to use showers and change tables at the same time after lessons.
There are 3 showers in the female changerooms and another 2 showers in between the male & female toilet block (and more showers in the male changerooms). There are also 4 baby change mats alongside the pool area. There is lots of room for prams or strollers alongside the pool area and plenty of seating poolside so you can watch your little one swim. There is also plenty of parking at the front and the rear of the school.
