Thornlie Park is a bright, shaded playground that’s fully fenced and designed with play features for all abilities.
The fenced area includes the playground, picnic benches and surrounding grassed areas. While the playground is fully fenced and double gated, note that the gates are not secured with a locking mechanism.
The playground is best suited to toddlers and younger children and has a focus on all abilities play features.
The main play structure has ramp access with sensory play features accessible from the ramp and a wheel chair friendly spinning carousel.
Alongside the main play structure are a basket swing and parent & child swing and an in ground trampoline.
Most the playground is on soft fall with a small section of sand in one corner. Note: this was a little flooded from rain at the time of this review.
Picnic tables are located within the fully fenced area.
A pathway is located around the playground so bring the scooters and small bikes along too.
Toilets are located outside the fenced area however there are no BBQs. Across the road is a basketball court and there is a large grassed area outside the playground. The Thornlie Square Shopping Centre is located a short drive up the road if you are looking for somewhere to grab a coffee or a bite to eat before or after your play.
Thornlie Park is great park to meet with friends with toddlers and is also a lovely playground for famiilies who have children with special or sensory needs.
