The White Elephant Cafe Gnarabup Beach, is perfect If you are visiting Margaret River this Spring or Summer and you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a swim at the beach as a family and, or some breakfast or lunch with a beautiful ocean view!
The beach is perfect for families on a nice day, it can be prone to some seaweed build up, but is otherwise calm and the crystal clear water is fantastic for some swimming and snorkelling There are also lots of nice shells along the beach so the kids will enjoy a walk along the beach seeing what they can collect.
As you can see from the picture below there is also a pontoon here bigger kids can swim out too – there is a boat ramp a Gnarabup Beach so this is a popular spot for launching small boats also.
Before or after your meal make sure you take in the short walk up the top of the cliff to the lookout where you can get a magnificent view of the beach, cafe and coastline.
The cafe recently under went a renovation and so now features both indoor and outdoor dining, so you can dine here rain, hail or shine. They have bar style seating at the front of the cafe. We didn’t eat on this occassion but the kids enjoyed an ice-cream after a beautiful swim – and loved sitting here looking over the ocean.
The meals coming out while we enjoyed our ice-creams looked delicious and they have a great menu for breakast and lunch, that includes a kids menu too (you can find this on their website, linked below). Menu items include burgers, fries, wedges and fish and chips, with basic breakfast items starting from $8.50 and lunch items from $15. The kids menu starts from $4 for toast and jam. They have milkshakes and ice-creams for the kids too – which makes a great bribery to get them away from the beach when it’s time to go home.
The White Elephant Beach Cafe at Gnarabup Beach is a top spot or a beach swim and some brunch, or to enjoy a coffee while watching a winter storm roll in. This is a must visit if you find yourself in Margaret River.
