Whitfords Nodes Health and Well Being Hub Hillarys Features: Staircase | Viewing Platforms | Walk Paths | Outdoor Exercise Stations | Water Fountains | Picnic Shelters

Whitfords Nodes Health and Well Being Hub Hillarys features 145 steps up to a viewing platform with amazing views over Hillarys Boat Harbour, the Whitfords Nodes Park and ocean from the top. This hub is complete with exercise stations and challenging walk trails and is the perfect place for families to be active and for fitness junkies to get their outdoor exercise fix.

The staircase forms part of the red walk trail which is 1.2km long and features two lookouts and several steep incline walk paths. There are two shorter trails also the blue trail at 680m and the yellow trail at 720m long.

There is also the sunset walk path that connects this area with Hillarys to the south and Mullaloo, Iluka Foreshore and Burns Beach to the north.

The red walk includes many steep sections including a walk way up to the southern lookout that looks out over Hillarys Boat Harbour and the Whitfords Nodes South Playground. There is a picnic shelter located here so it’s a nice place to stop and look out over the ocean or watch the sunset (or sunrise).

Depending which way you go around the red trail you’ll either approach the staircase from the top or the bottom. At the bottom are a series of outdoor exercise stations, a picnic shelter and a water fountain. You may like to add some exercise reps in between each round of going up and down the stairs.

The staircase has 145 stairs and 12 flights of stairs with several platforms with seating and signage indicating how many steps and flights there are to go up or down. It’s these features that have also had the Whitfords Nodes Staircase dubbed “Jacobs Ladder of the North”.

And the view from the top is worth everyone of those 145 steps. It was lovely to see everyone from serious exercisers to families enjoying this beautiful hub that encourages fun and activity for everyone with it’s magnificent facilities at this beautiful location. For disabled or pram access to the top viewing platform you can take the blue track to the end of the red truck to access that top by pathway. Note it quite a steep pathway to the top however.

The Whitfords Nodes staircase is located alongside the Whitfords Nodes Playground so this is a now and even better place to play, picnic or BBQ with friends and family.

Whether you are looking for somewhere to enjoy some serious outdoor exercise, combine some play and exercise to get active as a family or you just want to check out the incredible views the Whitfords Nodes Heallth and Wellbeing Hub Hillarys is for everyone.
