Free * No Toilets * Picnic Tables * Just 20 mins from Apple Fun Park Donnybrook
Gnomesville is located within the Ferguson Valley approximately 2 hrs from Perth. You can find this hidden gem of a tourist spot at the roundabout at the intersection of Wellington Mill Road, Wellington Lowden road and Ferguson road (20km south-east of Dardanup)
Our visit to Gnomeville was as a day trip from Perth, which meant a long day for the kids in the car, but we also travelled the extra 20 minutes South and visited the Donnybrook Apple Fun Park (see link to review below) afterwards (insert link). Gnomesville would make a great detour stop if you are already travelling to the South West region.
Ferguson Valley Map
Parking is via verge parking on Wellington Lowden road. You can make your visit to Gnomesville as long or as short as you like. There is a few hundred metres of gnomes to walk through, and we spent about 45 minutes exploring it all.
Gnomesville started with a single gnome being placed near the roundabout in 1995 and has grown massively since then. There are all sorts of gnomes, including ones from sporting teams and social clubs, as well as ones placed as memorials. There are a lot of gnome based puns e.g. There’s gnome place like home and people have gotten verycreative to where are how they’ve placed their gnomes. There are even some flying from the trees!
We stopped into Bunnings on our way to Gnomesville and purchased a gnome so we could add to the collection. I wrote the kids names and the date on the Gnome, and the kids picked out a spot for the Gnome to live.
Placing our gnome
There are no toilet facilities or barbecues at Gnomesville and only minimal picnic tables. There are several other nearby attractions like King Tree and Wellington Mill if you are looking for somewhere to have a picnic, or do as we did, and continue a bit further to Donnybrook. On the day of our visit there was a mobile coffee and juice van to capitalise on the popularity of this attraction.
My kids had so much fun looking at all of the gnomes. There were continuous shrieks of “Look at this one Mummy!” and “This Gnome is so cute!”. I highly recommend a visit for kids and adults of all ages.
