Inspiration for for the design include local elders and was facilitated by renowned landscape architect Josh Byrne & Associates, who have also designed several other Perth playgrounds.

There are two seperate playground areas and both are located under good natural shade and have nature based play features. The playground located at the lower end overlooking the wetlands has several climbing features that include a low level rock climbing wall, a tunnel kids can climb over or swing through, climbing frame and basket swing. The giant wooden spider that you can climb all over is another pretty cool feature of this play area (if it doesn’t completely freak you out that is).

The second playground is aimed at younger children with a wooden fort, slide and balancing logs.

Alongside this playground is a large elevated deck, where you can sit and enjoy the sunshine or get a birds eye view of the Pennisula and Maylands Waterland.

The shallow pool has been maintained and has been given more of a wetland feel with reed sprays, fake rocks and frogs located around the edge.

It’s wonderful to see that the iconic mosaic 150 year Western Australia Anniversay Swan from the original larger pool has been maintained and relcoated to the outdoor shower area.
