The Perry Lakes Reserve Ropes Playground is a must visit for bigger kids. This small fully fenced (except for one small section) playground features around 10 ropes challenges that require kids to climb, swing and balance their way through the obstacle course. It’s good fun for the grown ups to have a turn too!
This playground is recommended for kids 3yrs +, my youngest son is 3 1/2 years here and he needed some assistance and close supervision on some of the higher ropes. There isn’t much for younger children only a birds nest swing and some wooden stepping logs.
The park has fantastic natural shade all day long, and has a couple of seating areas and plenty of limestone walls that you can sit on. There are also a couple of wooden decks which are beautiful for sitting down and enjoying a packed lunch or snack – and looking over East Lake.
There is also a beautiful boardwalk around the side of East Lake which is great for a short walk and a cycle way on the road side also.
This playground has been set beautifully in the natural surroundings and is perfect if you are looking for somewhere for the kids to burn off some energy and get some fresh air – they will love this park. It’s not like one I have seen anywhere else….a must visit for lovers of climbing!
