Shorehaven’s Treasure Island Adventure Playground Alkimos Features: Adventure Playground | Picnic Shelters | BBQs | Toilets Nearby | Water Fountain | Cafe & Licensed Restaurant Nearby | Beach Access | Shower
Shorehaven’s Treasure Island Adventure Playground is much more than just a playground it’s a place where kids can let their imagination run wild and where they can put their minds and senses to work to find the clues within the playground solve the puzzles and complete the treasure hunt.
The centrepiece of the playground is a shipwreck that features a tall 8m tower (where you can get a great view of the ocean and the Alkimos Shipwreck) with access to the tunnel slide at the top.
At the front of the shipwreck is a climbing wall with barnacles for steps and in the hub of the ship is the ships steering and talk tubes.
Swimming alongside the shipwreck is a whale that kids can crawl through.
For little ones there is a small wooden pirate ship, story book and small double slide in the corner of the playground.
The playground features lots of little themed characteristics like bags of beans in the sand, parrots on perches and this cannon and cannonballs near the horizontal rope swing.
If you go into the sales office near the playground you can pick up the Captain’s Notebook that is packed with puzzles, clues to look for and a treasure hunt.
The playground features picnic shelters, seating, BBQs and a water fountain. Toilets are located on the outside of the Oceans 27 building just a short stroll from the playground.
The playground is located on the big grassy Shorehaven Foreshore so there is the lots of room to run around, and there is good beach access from here as well as a shower to wash off after a swim.
What also makes this spot special for families is the Oceans 27 restaurant and Shore Cafe located near the playground and overlooking the foreshore area. Shore Cafe is open Wed – Sun and Oceans 27 is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This spot is especially perfect for a family friendly Sunday session with live music in the outside dining area.
Whether you are looking for somewhere to play, dine out with the family, enjoy a bbq and watch the sunset, Shorehaven’s Treasure Island Adventure Playground on the Shorehaven Foreshore has it all.
